I've got the President's back... |
|
It's obvious to anyone paying attention that the Republicans are out to destroy him. They have put politics over our country. Although I have disagreed with the President on several issues, I have always thought that he put his country over politics. There is a world of difference between the President and the Republican Party.
I stand behind the President right now. I am hoping he will make the decision that is best for our country. He is earning his money right now.

You say it's obvious to anyone paying attention. I agree. But, there is the rub. Most people aren't paying attention. This summit would have been showstopper last summer. Now, it is background noise.
We have already gone through a summer of debates, town halls and talk radio. We have been through the President's prime time health care speech. We have seen versions of the bill pass both houses, but still have nothing to show for it. The President giving his proposal and hosting a televised summit is what we expected to get last year. That was the campaign rhetoric.
I hope this does it, but I hoped all the other efforts would do it, too. He showed leadership today, what we have been so desperately craving. I hope it is not too late.

7. He wanted to be President of the whole country. |
|
The divisions were very deep when he walked into the White House. After eight years of the most partisan and divisive White House in modern memory, President Obama wanted to be the President of all the people. But there were some that did not want him to be President of the country and now they are trying to destroy him.
I, too, hope he is beginning to see the light. If he does the right thing for the people, the country will stand behind him. We shall see.

6. I am with him too. By his body language and the way he managed |
|
the Republicans today, he knows they are "agin him".
His strong closing today, letting people know he is standing with his bill and the Democrats will pass it alone if necessary, To me this was powerful.
