ABC’s Ross: DC Madam’s List Includes White House & Pentagon Officials, Prominent Lawyers

ABC News’ Brian Ross revealed tonight that the list of customers of an alleged Washington-based prostitution service includes White House and Pentagon officials as well as prominent attorneys.

“There are thousands of names, tens of thousands of phone numbers,” Ross said. “And there are people there at the Pentagon, lobbyists, others at the White House, prominent lawyers — a long, long list.” Ross added that the women who worked for the service, potentially as prostitutes, “include university professors, legal secretaries, scientists, military officers.”

On Friday, Ross broke the news that U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Randall Tobias had frequented the escort service. Ross added new details to that story tonight, recounting how he asked Tobias in a telephone interview “if he knew any of the young women, their names. He said he didn’t remember them at all. He said it was like ordering pizza.”

16. America: Home of Multitasking.
If someone could drink coffee, talk on a cell phone and drive a car at the same time, why couldn't a scientist also work for an escort service? :)

What surprises me is the high levels of tenseness in Washington that leads to all those "massages". :)

On a serious note though, it could be many of these patrons may have been entrusted or had access to sensitive information and therefore could have become security risks as the result of their behavior.

36. Sure but I don't think of them as being paid for as opposed to the standard nooner with
your spouse or bf/gf or mistress/paramour.

I would think University Presidents make decent $$$ and to be a call girl on the side seems unbelievable risky but, I guess, people do unbelievably risky things all the time. Example 1 would be the Big Dog.

27. What does that tell you?
We're a very conflicted society. There's a side which is visible and critical of anything that doesn't walk the straight and narrow, and another side where the "in crowd" gets to play after dark, until the political climate changes.

Someone in the corporatemedia should be on their way to winning a Pulizter by now but they'd rather do steno.

But what is so great about it when a GOP'er falls prey to the temptations of the flesh, something they try to sell to the poor schlubs who vote for them, it just exposes another log for the bonfire of the vanity that is conservatism....

are "pizza" to these guys with small *brains* (above & below) and HUGE egos....to be used, consumed, thrown away, barfed up - whatever suits their need at the moment. What a sickening bunch of fools we've let steer this mighty ship of America.

A MAJOR housecleaning is in order. Perhaps we should limit the terms of our senators, reps, and others in high position to only 4-8 years? At this point, I think I would America would be better off with "honest inexperience" than "experienced corruption".

20. Frequenting of prostitutes will hurt Repubs most with their fundie conservative base...
The 'holier than thou' attitude and practices of the 'moral police' Repubs will really resonate with the Falwell/Dobson/Perkins followers who have been enamored by the Repubs push for 'family values.'

They will overlook almost anything Repubs do EXCEPT sex.

If you were a writer on the Daily Show or Colbert Report, you must be wondering where to start with so much material busting out all over.

I guess we can look forward to lots more Repub 'bios' being scrubbed from the web as folks 'resign office for personal reasons.'

Tell me something I don't know already. Let's see, we've got the White House press corps, a bunch of congressmen who sell their souls to lobbyists on a regular basis...oh yeah, and the old-fashioned kind who rent out their bodies. It would be easier to count the people in that town who AREN'T whores.

33. Without the names, this "story" only functions as a threat.
What it amounts to is a warning shot over the bow of the power structure, a blackmail attempt. This is a power play. Somebody wants something, and I guarantee you, they'll get it. These names will NEVER be released. Never.

I don't see the larger problem. There should be no legal intervention in business such as this. Like drugs, prostitution should be decriminalized.
