37. Canada is such a wonderful country...
and their people are so friendly and hospitable...

It's a mystery to my why we haven't invaded them yet. Seriously, people. With Iraq we got oil. But Canada has Molson's for Gawd's sake. I can ride a fucking bike....and I can do it drunk!

What's that "Can Do" spirit?!

The band is under an NDA, but the blog said they were approached to perform. The "Ontario" section of the Opening Ceremonies was apparently cut, and that was where they were going to be playing.

27. Remember the TV show "Wonder Years?"
They did a sweet little episode where the father finally had to let go of the old family station wagon...It was towed away to the tune of "Long May You Run"...Very well done.

Reminded me of the tears I shed when my first car, a VW station wagon was towed away...

31. They should have ended the ceremony with Neil Young.
The ceremony was so over-the-top with the beavers, the maple leaves, etc. It was like a really bad off-off-off-Broadway plan gone bad. I was laughing hysterically, though. Way overkill.

32. But fun. As they'd wanted it to be.
"A Light-Hearted Ceremony" featuring funny examples of all things stereo-typically Canadian, was what we read beforehand. I think they did a good job.

when they had a do-over of the malfunctioning flame. I thought it was very nice to bring back the torchbearer who didn't have anything to light at the opening ceremony. Good job, Canada!!

44. It's amazing, isn't it? You have very good taste. That's my favorite
song of his. And since I'm a huge fan you'd think it would be hard for me to choose. But nope, that one is his best, IMO.

One of my very favorite things was watching Neil Young and Jimmy Page together at the RRHOF. It was only marred by Robert Plant hopping around pretending he could play with the best.
