4. Just another scientifc liar, right?
Cause you and your anti-vaxx loon friends think vaccines are a bad thing, IIRC.
BTW, I worked on experiemental vaccines for Malaria (one of the world's biggest killers by the way) at NIH with Gates money and know that there is a hell of lot of helpful research being done for poor African countries (not to mention buying things like netting, and other mosquito prevention).
But its so easy to hate Gates cause he's rich. And since you've never demonstrated ONE SINGLE OUNCE OF SCIENTIFIC knowledge I'm not even going to click on your POS propaganda paranoid link.
Who should people believe YOU some random internet idiot
Or THIS guy who worked on the Gates Malaria project and I had the HONOR of working for..

6. Gates points out in passing that good vaccines and health care
throughout the world might cut down the peak population the world reaches, by perhaps 10-15% - because countries with good healthcare drop their birth rates (and 'good healthcare' should include contraception too).

It's actually a talk by Gates, at the TED conference, on how to cut carbon dioxide emissions down to zero. Quite good so far (I'm just a few minutes into it). Why the OP was given such a silly title I don't know. Ignore the ulterior motives of the thread starter and listen if you have a spare half hour, I'd say.

8. Because when children nearly always live through their childhood
people have less babies. This is well known in population studies, eg:

According to a report from the United Nations Population Fund, based on 1998 analyses (see The State of World Population 1999), projections for the future global population are being revised downward. The projection for 2050 now is 8.9 billion (medium variant), substantially lower than the 1996 projection of 9.4 billion.

The major reason for the lower projection is good news: global fertility rates have declined more rapidly than expected, as health care, including reproductive health, has improved faster than anticipated, and men and women have chosen to have smaller families. About one-third of the reduction in long-range population projections, however, is due to increasing mortality rates in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of the Indian subcontinent. The most important factor is HIV/AIDS, which is spreading much faster than previously anticipated.
