Isn't Sara Evans the darling of the Bush Admin?GOP family values, again!

By CAITLIN R. KING, Associated Press Writer Caitlin R. King, Associated Press Writer – Fri Feb 26, 2:14 pm ET
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music singer Sara Evans has filed a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband, Craig Schelske.

She obtained the restraining order Wednesday in Williamson County, Tenn.

Documents say Schelske is not allowed to make any derogatory statements about Evans to the media or make allegations about what led to their divorce in the fall of 2007.

A court hearing has been set for March 15.

The 39-year-old Evans had been competing on "Dancing With the Stars" in October 2006 when she suddenly quit the show and filed for divorce. The divorce proceedings played out publicly, with both Evans and Schelske accusing each other of having affairs. Both denied the accusations. They have three children together.

Evans won top female vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.

2. Would be interesting to compare the so called "morality' of Democratic public figures with that of
the morality police GOP. All celebs have their problems but I'll bet the GOPers are just a wee bit nastier in most respects. its the hypocrisy that is really irritating.

6. no. She seems mostly concerned about him saying derogatory comments or disclosing
the "reasons"for their divorce. Sounds like she is protecting really dirty linen. such a good ladylike repug as she is. Apparently they both were 'unfaithful' but my bet is she was the first! LOL!

8. The reasons a restraining order was granted could be many..
Stalking, domestic violence, harassment, bullying, etc. etc..

I don't even know who this woman is, but in all fairness, she may have a valid reason to have asked for this restraining order against her husband. Violence against woman who leave a partner is no joke. On the surface this seems to have very little to do with the usual GOP family values hypocrisy, and I don't see why this woman doesn't deserve the same protection as anyone else, Repub or not.

9. If that is the case, she certainly does. OTOH, just talking smack about an ex wife
doesn't seem to justify an order of protection. I have had a family member who had a restraining order placed on them for nothing. The complainant simply lied.No one is a more fierce advocate for the protection of women then myself but there are folks who game the system. On the surface, both of them are 'cheaters' and that is All about GOP hypocrisy on family values. The fact that she want her ex shut up is also evidence of GOP values. We disagree on this.

10. Thank you for some sanity here
Violence against women is simply NOT acceptable. Restraining orders protect the vulnerable.

11. She was on the boycott the Dixie Chicks bandwagon.
Whatever bad comes the way of this inbred reneck is most certainly well deserved.

12. I didn't know she was one of the ones who supported the boycott
but then again the whole country music industry boycotted them. You just can't sing country music and sing anti-war songs. Turns out Toby Keith was against the Iraq war and had a huge pro-war song out shortly after the war started. Smart business decision I guess. I never liked his music anyway. Not just because of his pro-war songs but alot of his songs were very derogatory towards women as well. But I admired the Dixie Chicks for voicing their opinion. And their later work is some of their best. I love, love, love the Taking the Long Way album. It's too bad Natalie won't be a part of the group anymore. I have to say I have lost some respect for Sarah Evans knowing she supported the boycott. I like her music, but like I said the entire country music industry supported the ban so she obviously was not the only one.

15. If it by some chance was domestic violence, no one deserves
that no matter what their stance on the war or the Dixie Chicks is.
