Tea Party 2010 = Militia Movement 1994
Edited on Tue Mar-02-10 01:02 AM by scheming daemons

There was the February 2009 murder of George Tiller by a pro-life fanatic.
There was the ambush shooting of 3 Pittsburgh police officers by a freeper in April, 2009.
There was the shooting at the Holocaust Musuem in June by an extreme right nutjob in June, 2009.
Then there was Joseph Stack two weeks ago.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there have been 75 acts of domestic right-wing terrorism in the United States since Obama's election.

In the past 14 months, we haven't seen an incident like Oklahoma City and Timothy McVeigh....

yet.

But we all know he's out there, the next McVeigh. Waiting... plotting...

And this is the Republican base, people. Remember that the next time you think there's no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Democratic politicians are sometimes corrupt, sometimes spineless, and sometimes make mistakes. But for the most part, they're not evil. They generally have America's best interests at heart, even if they don't always act on it.

Republican politicians, for the most part, do NOT have America's best interests at heart and actively work against them.

The Democrats are to politics what Barney Fife was to police work.

But the Republicans are the cops that beat Rodney King, Denzel Washington's character in "Training Day", and Mark Fuhrman all wrapped in one.

Because the Democrats are not always up to the task does not make it the time to repeat the mistakes of 1994.

Because if we allow the Republicans to take congress back this time, we're empowering those next-generation Timothy McVeighs..... and Newt's congress will look like a liberal utopia compared to Boehner's.

Reject the Nader-ite lie that Democrats and Republicans are the same. They're not. Not even close.

One party's base consists of the poor, the working class, the minority, and the average schlub trying to make it through each day. The other party's base consists of whack jobs who consider Brown v Board of Education to be the beginning of the downfall of the country.

2. When
When are people going to wake up to the false dichotomy of right vs. left? It's a bogus bunch of BS. The dems and repugs are owned by the exact same corporations.

Obama helped push through a $700 Billion theft for the crooked bankers that intentionally caused the "problem" in the first place.

Then he, Obama, a supposed democrat, appointed Geitner and Bernanke, BOTH OF THEM REPUBLICANS, to "oversee" the banking sector. Absolutely nothing has changed, the exact same criminal unregulated banking rape-age is still going on.

The "dems" in congress had 1 year with a super majority, and they didn't do jack fuc*ing crap for the working person. In fact they went backwards.

the dems and repugs, right vs. left, is a phony sham farce put in place to distract you from the real war, that between the rich and poor. Divide and distract, and it's working. You look here on DU and it's all attack posts against the idiot repugs, yes the repugs are worse, but they are so stupid they're not very effective. The dems are nearly as bad because they fake you out that they are on your side and when it comes time to walk the walk they are with the corporations. Just witness the failure that is Obama, he talks the worker's talk a mile-a-minute, but he's walking the corporate walk every step of the way.

from reading Joe Stack's manifesto he sounds like a lefty, he was a code writer and he moved to Austin, the most liberal town in Texas. One of his friends in his band was posting here on DU, so he was in a band that had a DU member.

5. Left and Right

Joe Stack is a lefty. He was protesting a tax rule change that benefited the large corporations and trashed the individual worker. In other words the increasing disparity between the working class and the ruling class. He was protesting serfdom, something more of us need to do.

7. No, joe stack was waging a quixotic grudge match against the IRS because
he failed to pay his taxes and blamed everyone else but himself for the problems in his life.

Rather than deal with his problems like any ration adult would, you know, pay his taxes or even discuss it with the IRS, he chose violence. Once he committed that act, all bets are off and no matter his justification, it loses all credibility once he attempted to make a point by willfully trying to kill people.

joe stack in a word, is a loser.
