"ANNAPOLIS, Md. — It’s hard enough to find a job in this economy, and now some people are facing another hurdle: Potential employers are holding their credit histories against them.
Sixty percent of employers recently surveyed by the Society for Human Resources Management said they run credit checks on at least some job applicants, compared with 42 percent in a somewhat similar survey in 2006."

1. Running someones credit should be illegal...period.

They just completely abused the living shit out of doing this. Not to mention that the big 3 credit reporting agencies are creditors themselves, and what they do is a complete conflict of interest (pun not intended).

2. While my credit rating is pretty good I wouldn't want a potential employer

snooping around in it like it is their own property.

That being said does an individual, who loses their job and gets behind in a few payments, now a credit risk fr their employer??

That sounds like the person in credit trouble, even in a small way, is just going to be entering a downward spiral.
