The "World's Mightiest Military" with the world's best arms, that outnumber the "enemy" forces, have complete control of the air, unlimited materiel, is awash in money supplied to them by a lapdog congress, with no discernible "mission", is bogged down in a backward, poverty stricken country with a corrupt government financed by us that poses no threat to us.

The very best we can hope for is the same "Peace with Honor" that Nixon gave us when he didn't "lose" Vietnam.

...It seems more than a few people are ticked off I even asked. I thought it would be interesting to see how gender broke this down as well. Sorry to have offended, if you are.

That said, it's turned out to have kind of interesting results. DU men outnumber DU women across the board in being interested enough to click on the thread and vote on the subject, for example. That's interesting, although I don't of course know what it means.

...On the "in favor" side, men outnumber women 5 to 1, and on the "against" side men outnumber women just 2 to 1.

The "other," which in retrospect is where the "on the fence" folks would wind up, is tiny.

And, of course, respondents are overwhelmingly against. All interesting stuff to me -- like many DU topics, it's more clear where the majority stand when you do a poll, rather than just following the threads. Loud voices and what-not. :)
