3. Whether he is or not
the gop will distance themselves from him, except for some of the more, um, er, "enlightened" ones like Senator Kyl.

4. I'd like to think he is.
Republicans are stupid, but they HAVE to know that blocking UI is a losing move. Bunning is leaving at the end of the year, so he doesn't have to worry about his constituency, and he's still pissed at the GOP for trying to force him out so he's doing this because he's a pissy old man.

7. The newest conspiracy theory here is that the Dems are using Bunning as the fall guy
because they don't want to extend the benefits either.

8. Got a link?
Or is it just in your head?

Dems would pass the bill in a heart beat.

14. Not a conspiracy theory
Just stupid. There are reasons to wonder if the Dems are all 'there'
and then there is just stupid. That is just stupid.

15. It's not MY conspiracy theory. I laugh at those who are promoting it.
But it's why this OP was written. If you notice in the link provided by somebody below, the OP is active in that thread.

5. Politicians tend not to do things "alone".
Especially Republicans.

Even though Bunning is retiring, the GOP could put an immediate end to his antics by threatening whatever GOP gravy train he's planning to hop aboard the minute he leaves the Senate.

9. R's have been avoiding this guy for years after the batshit crazy things he said...
in his last campaign. He's a bastard that does not 'play well with others'.

In a party that likes conformity, he doesn't fit in.

My boss had to work with him and completely loathed him.

thaat Rand Paul is supporting him too. That's only 2 that I've heard about, and I'm sure there are many silent supporters too.

13. Rand Paul is insane, and Jon Kyl's just stupid.
If Republicans were behind him, you'd hear Mitch McConnell out there.

11. He's just a stupid fuck they tricked into being the target asswipe for the MSM.
He's a stupid fuck anyway, but the GOP took advantage of it. They do that a lot - take the shrub for example.

Edited on Tue Mar-02-10 01:15 PM by Tippy
Hell the truth be known the whole thing was probably well planned..To take focus off their real agenda...And Bunning being an idiot to begin with, was the perfect on to start this...
