Heads Up: Prayer Warriors and Sarah Palin Are Organizing |
|
http://www.alternet.org/news/145796/heads_up%3A_prayer_warriors_and_sarah_palin_are_organizing_spiritual_warfare_to_take_over_america_Heads Up: Prayer Warriors and Sarah Palin Are Organizing Spiritual Warfare to Take Over AmericaThe New Apostolic Reformation, the largest religious movement you've never heard of, aims to take control of communities through March 1, 2010
Imagine a religious movement that makes geographic maps of where demons reside and claims among its adherents the Republican Party's most recent vice presidential nominee and whose leaders have presided over prayer sessions (one aimed at putting the kibosh on health-care reform) with a host of leading GOP figures.
It's a movement whose followers played a significant role in the battle over Proposition 8, California's anti-same-sex marriage initiative, and Uganda's infamous proposed Anti-Homosexuality Law, more commonly associated with the Family, a religious network of elites drawn from the ranks of business and government throughout the world. But the movement we're imagining encompasses the humble and the elite alike, supporting a network of "prayer warriors” in all 50 states, within the ranks of the U.S. military, and at the far reaches of the globe -- all guided by an entire genre of books, texts, videos and other media.
THEY AIN'T DONE, FOLKS

That was yesterday, so we're okay now! Right? We're okay now?!! No more "taking control of communities" since that ended yesterday? Right??!!!

4. If you lived in Interior Alaska, you'd see they've won already. |
|
It's insane here - the religious neocons, the fundies, the army (yes, they LOOOOOOOOOVE their fundy troops), the attacks on any PFLAG event or "librul godless commie Obama supporters". A wingnut (who started a militia and a separate open-carry group, was just arrested on a 2nd degree domestic violence felony for using a gun to threaten (and wound) a family member. The local media and responses to articles? They ALL want him turned loose, even if the family member fled ACROSS THE STATE to avoid retaliation!
It's not just Alaska. Look at Virginia. Utah. Washington State. Idaho. Kansas.
If we don't become "godless warriors", it's all over, folks.
BTW, to your comment. I'm just on a rant today!! Teach me to be unable to find a job (I'm over 50) for 2 years with no unemployment benefits (not just Bunning).

I'm sorry they were "done" when took their little book, which was written by MEN not god, 2000 years ago, before they had electricity, cars, indoor plumbing, and cell phones, and attempted to make those sad little pages, which have been translated hundreds of times(and we all know how the telephone game is played), into the LAW OF THE UNIVERSE. Their over inflated sense of ego and pathetic worship of some invisible bearded guy who they claim is the god of love and vengeance and can see all hear all and do all, and created the world in 6 days, is going to sort the good Christians from the heathen on the day of the rapture....
sorry I can't continue, it's too pathetic.
Have you seen their leaders? Christian leaders? They are sad little snake oil salesmen who use fear to manipulate weak minded people into coughing up their life savings so they can add solid gold fixtures to their mega churches. I find it hard to have any fear of these people at all.

8. The Religious Right basically took over with Reagan - |
|
fortunately, Clinton took the country back. However, organized through their churches and preachers, funded by the Repukes, they can - and will be - a very viable threat in the future. I don't see an improvement coming anytime soon. :(
