Pssst. Hey teabaggers. According to Dick Cheney " Reagan proved deficits don't matter."

Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill was told "deficits don't matter" when he warned of a looming fiscal crisis.

O'Neill, fired in a shakeup of Bush's economic team in December 2002, raised objections to a new round of tax cuts and said the president balked at his more aggressive plan to combat corporate crime after a string of accounting scandals because of opposition from "the corporate crowd," a key constituency.

O'Neill said he tried to warn Vice President Dick Cheney that growing budget deficits-expected to top $500 billion this fiscal year alone-posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off. "You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due." A month later, Cheney told the Treasury secretary he was fired.

Oh, wait, I shouldn't assume that you are being hypocrites. You're probably all Independents & Libertarians. I forgot about the protests during the Reagan/Bush/Bush years.

Sorry. :eyes:

3. They'd just drop deficits from the list.
And if Uncle Dick says it, it must be right and true, so why bother with all the messy brainwashing?

4. "Libertarian" and "independent" teabaggers are just...
people who voted twice for Bush and are too damned embarassed to admit how stupid they were. And they're desperate not to have to accept any responsibility for the near-destruction of our nation, so now they attempt to blame this all on "liberals".

Fuck them. Patriots my ass. None of them are fit to be a boil on a real patriot's ass.

9. I'll say it again...
I truly believe he only meant they don't matter when it comes to being re-elected.

11. This is the main problem with the deficit. Whatever party is in
control says they don't matter and their followers, for the most part, go right along with it. Won't work forever I'm afraid.
