Yahoo News dug up an old photo of Strom Thurmond - pic
Yahoo News just put up this picture a little bit ago...

FILE - In this Aug. 27, 1957, file photo Sen. Strom Thurmond, D-S.C., waves as he leaves the Senate chamber at end of his 24 hour, 19 minute one-man filibuster on the floor. The South Carolinian was blocking action of the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

6. Didn't even break a sweat from the marathon of hate that fought civil rights for his own daughter.
In fact, it looks like it rejuvenated him.

Strom ThurmondThurmond: curiouser and curiouserIn all the words spent on Strom Thurmond's life and times since his death last week, I have seen no acknowledgment of the most interesting of his sundry racial legacies. She is Essie Mae Washington Williams, a widowed former school teacher in her 70s, living in Los Angeles. Presumably she did not show up for any of the obsequies even though Strom Thurmond was almost certainly her father. Williams is black.
