Why Even Bother?

Republicans reject Obama offer to include their ideas in health plan

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans are rejecting President Barack Obama's decision to consider incorporating some GOP suggestions into health care reform legislation. Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn says the legislation is still flawed. The president is expected to say tomorrow that he wants Congress to pass the legislation using rules that would block a GOP filibuster in the Senate.

1. It already is a Republican bill.
It contains almost all the thing the Republican version of health care reform contained in 1993.

3. nuts
. . . isn't it?

So for the sake of appearing 'bipartisan' we include conservative initiatives which were initially included to get votes we really don't need (anymore) since the president and Congress have decided to drive the car with both hands on the steering wheel using our majority.

5. Either because Obama agrees with them...
...or to make Republicans look even more like obstructionist assholes when they vote against it.
