Boycott all Whirlpool appliances and tell them about it here.
Regarding this article about Whirlpool taking tax payers money and then moving their factories
to Mexico.

http://citizen.typepad.com/eyesontrade/2010/02/letters-to-the-editor-are-flooding-the-local-papers-highlighting-the-devastating-impact-the-closure-will-have-on-the-entire.html

Please contact them using this form to tell them that you
will be boycotting all Whirlpool appliances (and make sure you boycott all Whirlpool appliances!)

http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/email_form.jsp

Maybe we can nip it in the bud if we start the boycott now.

Also can you all send this information to your email lists? The more the better.

Thanks,

Maraya

Some appliances sold by Sears is made by Whirlpool for Kenmore brand. Not all Kenmores are whirlpools however.

5. More brands under Whirlpool name
The Whirlpool Corporation, based in Benton Harbor, Mich., makes Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Gladiator products. The company has gobbled up Admiral, Amana, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, and Maytag and all of these Whirlpool brands account for about 27.3 percent of major appliance sales in the U.S., followed by General Electric brands—GE and Hotpoint—(25.1percent), and the Sears Kenmore (16.7 percent).

Whirlpool makes appliances for Ikea, Sears Kenmore, and side-by-side built-in refrigerators for Thermador.

7. What brands are made in the US?
I'm guessing it would be difficult to find appliances that are made here. Boycotting Whirlpool and buying a GE that's also made in Mexico seems pointless.
