27. I think you are absolutely correct.

He didn't expect it to be *hard work*. He thought having his old man blaze the trail for him and being a seasoned bullshit artist would be enough to get him by. But 09/11, Katrina and a few other major catastrophies caught him by surprise and they didn't fit in to his game plan.
