CA state senator (R-Naturally) arrested for suspected DUI

State Senator Roy Ashburn has been arrested on DUI charges.

CHP picked up Ashburn at 2:00am morning after an officer noticed a blach Chevy Tahoe swerving at 13th and L Streets. When the officer stopped the Tahoe, the driver identified himself as Senator Ashburn. He has been charged with two misdemeanors; driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than .08% or higher.

Ashburn was booked into the Sacramento County Jail and released.

Ashburn is a Republican Senator representing parts of Kern, Tulare and San Bernardino Counties.

The sad thing is, he's reputed to be one of the few relatively sane repukes in the CA Senate. :eyes:
