Is another Republican terror incident being downplayed?

"A local hazmat team was dispatched and standard procedures for responding to such an incident were implemented," IRS spokesman Bill Brunson said.

The FBI wouldn't comment about the suspicious substance, but U.S. Postal Inspection Service national spokesman Pete Rendina later said the "matter was non-hazardous."

At least two people were taken from the building on stretchers. "Some individuals did suffer medical emergencies, which, at this time, do not appear to be related to this incident," said FBI spokeswoman Debbie Dujanovic.

So the building was evacuated, 2 people were rushed to hospital, for a non hazardous substance?

2. Tax office.
The Republicans have played massive games with their right wing base to generate anger and fear directed towards the Federal Government. These games and the language that they have use have consequences. They know that but they do not seem too care because all they want to do is get short term political advantage - no matter the cost.

4. Police would not be called under those circumstances.
A package was reported as "fund". Not sent. So it is not likely to have an official label.

If the police are being told to play down right wing terror, I can understand it - simply because the right are being whipped up in to a frenzy and publicising it more would give them the oxygen f publicity.

5. Until Fire identified the substance was non-toxic you can bet PD would be there.

6. This post sums up my concern
Pagan | 3:57 p.m. March 1, 2010
'The IRS is a horrible institution and needs to be taken out...' - 2:46 p.m.

'not a bad target...' - 3:22 p.m.

Before we start idolizing attacks on American goverment do not forget you are an American citizen. If you think there is justification for taking American lives, you ignore the fact that you could be the target of the next attack.

If you want to make an effective change on this goverment petition your local goverment and vote.

10. I am agreeing with him.
Not suggesting he sent it, he was quoting two others here

'The IRS is a horrible institution and needs to be taken out...' - 2:46 p.m.

'not a bad target...' - 3:22 p.m.

The right have been making a hero of the Cessna terrorist, someone the US Government will not call a terrorist, despite flying a plane in to a building for political reasons.

7. Tea Party Type Domestic Terrorism? Nothing to see here, please ignore...
Anti-abortion, anti-tax and pro-gun rights attacks cannot be called terrorism.

Signed,

9. Indeed.
Set your balls on fire if you are Islamic, get world wide news coverage.

Fly a cessna in to an IRS building 9/11 style. Loopy man with issues who is a bit of a hero.

"Non hazardous substance" that results in two people going to hospital. Nope nothing, really, it was nothing.
