Health insurers must be shaking in their boots after today's meeting with Obama
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 08:39 PM by angelicwoman
President Obama met with the heads of Aetna, UnitedHealth, WellPoint, Cigna and Health Care Service in the White House.

Obama read them a letter written by a woman whose premiums were hiked 40%.

"The insurance executives explained that rising medical costs from other sectors like hospitals were the underlying driver of premium hikes – a message Sebelius and Obama were open to. But there were no concrete steps taken to include more cost containment measures in reform, Williams said."

...

"“He was open to input with respect to constructive ideas around cost and how to address the issue of covering American families in a more sustainable way,” said UnitedHealth CEO Stephen Hemsley. "
