local 12 year old girl hangs herself
Heard earlier today that a young girl who is a grandchild of a couple I often do work for had gotten into some kind of fight with another girl or girls at school. She went home. Her mother found her in a closet. It took 20 minutes to revive her and she was flown out to a hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Haven't heard anything more.

4. That does seem to be the case.
When I was young, I never heard of a child attempting or committing suicide around this area. Maybe it happened but it was hushed up and just not talked about.

6. At 12/13, I thought about it for the same reasons some go through with it.

7. Probably just the increase in technology means you hear about it today
When I was young (and I'm not even that old, 26) we didn't have the internet. The news was on at 5pm and 10pm, and there really wasn't a 24/7 new outlet, looking for anything possible to report on. A story of a child committing suicide would have made the news paper, but it would have been hidden somewhere, and unless you read every single article, you would probably miss it.
