My plan for health care reform

Here's an idea: TWO health plans. One for Democrats. One for Republicans. Independents & non-voters can go either way.

Democrat's plan: Medicare for all available on a sliding-scale basis, based on income - or lack of it. Plan would be open to ALL the uninsured & uninsurable. Anyone who likes their insurance, & can afford to, can keep it, 30-75% increases and all. Others can change over to Medicare for all. Tax cuts to businesses who give fully-paid health insurance to their employees. Wellness care, dental and eyecare included. Donut holes will close. Access to purchasing Canadian drugs, although it won't be necessary. This plan would go into effect immediately.

Republican's plan: Status Quo, with the exception of having to pay for the 30-75% increases in health insurance and pharmaceutical drugs. The good news is they will be able to buy across state lines and, by showing their Voters Registration Card (Republican), there will be Tort Reform, and if they get in an accident, they will be S.O.L.; as will those with pre-existing conditions.

Did I miss anything?

1. Can we also apply this reasoning to whether our taxes are going to fund the war?
I would much prefer our taxes to go to social programs over such maddening expenses of KBR's $2.8 BILL contract, for example.

2. Oh hell yeah! Let's have a national up-or-down vote on the Middle East clusterfuck!

I was against the illegal immoral invasions and occupations from the beginning. Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan were necessary, and both are wars of greed and vanity. I'd rather my money go to repair the environment, national infrastructure--water, power, etc. and end hunger and homelessness.

We should be sending kids to college, not off to die in some desert hellhole.

9. You got that right!
All last week, I was beaten up my our gun-carrying friends just 'cause I said I didn't like guns.

I came up with a compromise there, as well:

Told them they could have all the guns they want... but we should BAN BULLETS... LOL
