"Obama is telling America, 'No, we can’t.'"
Adam Green: "Obama is telling America, 'No, we can’t.'"

by Turkana

Greg Sargent received a pointed email from Adam Green, of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee:

Obama is telling America, “No, we can’t.” But we’ve been showing more and more each day, “Yes, we can” pass the public option. If President Obama doesn’t think the votes exist in the Senate, he needs to name which senators would oppose it. If he can’t or won’t, there’s no reason for House progressives to be part of the White House’s loser mentality.

3. Some don't want him to put a foot in the door...
They want him to jump inside, screaming, and acting like some idiot.

The press is on my last, raggity, raw nerve... as are 99.9% of the GOP.

11. and you have "NEVER SEEN THOSE PROMISES BEFORE?" YEAH RIGHT!
If you are too young to have witnessed it over and over and over and over again..TRUST US THAT ARE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE SEEN THIS SHIT PLAY OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

When they take something away for economic or what ever reasons..you never get it back again..

When a price goes up for any reason..fuel prices go up and the grocery store charges more for food..have you ever seen the prices go down again????? NOOOOOOOOOOOO

When they tell you they are "just testing something" ..they never turn it back no matter what the test results are...ever

When taxes go up for the middle class..have you ever seen them come back down? no

For the very richest ..yes ..but for the middle class..noooooooooo

This is no different then the saying..the check is in the bank..it isn't...unless you count it first and you deposit it yourself...and see it with your own eyes..don't count on it being there..

for many years as a flight crew i used to walk my wheelie through the airport whenever so called "TESTS" were being done..with a sign on my wheelie..

"Today it is my rights..tommorrow it will be yours ..what right are you willing to give up?"

no one ever told me what right they were willing to give up..not one person!!

I am not willing to give up what i worked my entire adult life for and that is my health coverage..it is good coverage but it will now be considered a Cadillac Plan..well i am here to tell you it isn't a damn cadillac..but it is good...and i damn sure worked for it !..Oh and I gave up income for it..so unless you want to give me back the income i lost for it ....someone can shove up their ..you know what..this new promise!

Either do it now..or pay the consequences in Nov...because i will sit my ass home in Nov..and That promise you can take to the bank!

7. Exactly
I'm convinced he doesn't give a shit about actually achieving meaningful healthcare reform.

All he wants is to be able to exploit the effort for political purposes without actually delivering the goods. That way he can keep his corporate financiers happy while simultaneously getting votes from Amerikkkans who fall for his spin story.

5. I think that phrase is getting as old as the line it's parodying.

14. I'm not sure what message Obama is sending.. I do know we need leadership..
We need someone to grab the wheel... and say NO to NAFTA. Say YES to American Workers.

When I read that that the biggest portions of wind turbine green energy is going to be made in CHINA... my stomach drops and my heart aches.

The answer is so frigging simple.. American Jobs for American People.
