Obama Not Bothered By Blanche Lincoln Ad...
Well I sure the fuck am!!! And I'm even more disturbed that Obama continues to back this fraud!

Obama Not Bothered By Lincoln Ad, Clinton Endorses Senator (VIDEO)
Sam Stein - HuffPo

<snip>

President Obama isn't bothered by a new ad from Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.), in which the senator touts her independence from the Democratic Party and states her opposition to key Democratic policies, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters just hours after Lincoln's first ad went on the air, Gibbs stressed that the president continues to "support" the Arkansas Democrat in her primary fight, even if she is now attacking parts of his agenda. In her ad, Lincoln touted her work fighting against cap-and-trade legislation and a public option for insurance coverage as illustrations of her independence.

"The president supports Senator Lincoln who is an incumbent member of the Senate and understands, even as he is the head of the Democratic Party, that not every Democrat is going to agree with him on every issue," Gibbs said. "And he is not going to agree with every other Democrat on their views. He believes that Senator Lincoln is serving her state well and believes she should be returned for an additional term."

1. Wow, this is disappointing. I thought I liked Senator Lincoln, but clearly she is caving to
pressure.

Sad and, frankly, PATHETIC.

2. "...that not every Democrat is going to agree with him on every issue,"
She pretty much stands in opposition to him on pretty much every formative issues there is. Why make a distinction here?

Of course, with the way this administration is double-speaking and backtracking on everything promised in 2008, I'm really not surprised.

5. If you are bothered about that Ad.....
Then do something about it!

The Democratic party leader supports incumbents for the most part,
and since Obama's approval rating is quite low in Arkansas,
him supporting Blanche Lincoln might be a nail in that coffin.
Had you thought about that?

After all this is a national race that Lincoln is running in,
and Obama lost Arkansas 39% to McCain's 59%!

But what it's all about is you getting off your ass,
and doing what you feel strongly about
what needs doing...not blaming someone else.

Perhaps you can encourage the good folks from Arkansas to see the wrongness
of their conservative ass ways,
give a hefty donation to her opponent,
or simply make some phone calls for him or ask how you can contribute.

After all, Arkansas did give us a President who signed NAFTA, Welfare Reform,
DADT, DOMA, the Telecommunications Act, and signed the repeal of Glass-Steagall....
so why would you expect Arkansas to be the home of the Best Republican President
there ever was, and now expect that somehow Arkansans are even close to being progressives,
when it is obvious that they aren't. Look at Pryor, and you'll see a similar
conservative bend.

11. Bill Clinton's title of "Best Republican President Ever"...
...is in mortal jeopardy.
He will soon be 2nd Best Republican President Ever unless Obama radically changes course.
At least poor Bill kept out troops safe.

She is behind her Repub opponents and her popularity is at 35%.

8. Keeping ARKANSAS (That Seat) In Our Column ???
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 07:26 PM by WillyT
We couldn't even keep Teddy Kennedy's Massachusetts seat in OUR column.

He's gonna be mighty lucky to keep either house of Congress at this point???

It NOT just right-wingers pissed off at what's going on in Washington D.C.

Some are starting to consider All of the options, and not JUST the consequences.

9. What else can he say?
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 07:23 PM by KingFlorez
The President can't pick sides over an incumbent in a primary, especially if the party is trying to salvage a seat. If Lincoln loses the primary, the President can easily back Halter, but if Lincoln wins the primary, it would be hard to flip back to supporting her.

14. After THAT Commercial... He'd Have Every Right To Say...
"Arkansas has two Democrats running in a primary race for U.S. Senate, and I'm sure the people of Arkansas will make the best decision for their future and the future of Arkansas."

He doesn't owe her a thing after that commercial.

Plus it makes him look like a TOTAL wimp!

I could never say nice things about idiots in my own party. Of course, I'd never get elected in the first place due to my temper :D

15. Folks here trash the Democratic party every damn day.....
so I figured Blanche Lincoln is just doing more of the same.

Perhaps where she comes from the folks there trash the Democratic party too.

In the end trashing the Democrats no matter from which side equals to the same thing,
Republicans elected to office....so I'm not sure why so many here are all of the sudden
outraged. It ain't like they've been setting an actual stellar example.
