Overlapping seasons: A stretch of unusually warm weather in the high country of Austria's Salzburg Province caused tulips to bloom, only to have winter return with a vengeance.

4. It can work the other way too
I have a couple of cute pictures of my kids when they were little playing in the snow in their shorts and sleeveless shirts. It was early April, I guess, and the temperature had suddenly shot up to near 80 on a day when there were still piles of snow in the shady places.
