You are correct, her lawyers could not be very good if they would approve this letter. My guess is she picked some wing-nut attorneys who conform to her viewpoints perfectly and won't bother her with legal facts that go against her pre-conceived notions. I figure that no matter what happens neither her nor O'Keefe will get through this without having to pay some sort of settlement, the evidence is getting stronger every day that they engaged in massive fraud and ACORN clearly has a strong case against them. If they had good attorneys however they would have likely been able to walk away with a relatively small settlement and a slap on the wrist. With attorneys more focused on their wing-nut fantasies than defending their clients however the chances that Giles and O'Keefe not only spend the rest of their lives sending most of their income to ACORN but also end up serving jail time increase significantly.

..... it is in Plano, TX. Looks to me that they are using Ms Hannah for fund raising among
the moon bat snake handlers any decent attorney will eat their lunch, make 'em shine their
shoes, and get into the pockets of Ms. Giles and her backers. I bet the damages that will
be sued for are pretty damn big .... fraud and slander are slam dunks.

Their own legal defense website is still claiming they were "posing as a prostitute and pimp" after even Giles herself was forced to admit that O'Keefe never wore his pimp costume to the ACORN offices. I sense that when ACORN's lawyers decide to pounce Liberty Legal is not going to know what hit them. When Giles' own lawyers continue to spread blatant lies just so they can stir up the wing-nuts to donate money they are only harming their own case, and I can't wait to see them completely humiliated in court.

Courts are extremely reluctant to engage in prior restraint of speech.

If ACORN and individual employees argue that their reputations are being damaged, the answer will be to go start a defamation action.

This isn't a bad thing. As others have pointed out in this thread, the effect of the letter could well be to aid ACORN in any civil action against Giles. She might have a decent action for legal malpractice against "her" lawyers, who are serving the best interests of their employer rather than their client.
