It figures that he's a republican and a Catholic:)....................I cannot think of two more hypocritical groups (well, there are the Tea Baggers and the conservative evangelicals....)

1. Don't be afraid to use the term "Closet Case". It is made to separate these people from out gays.
I have no problems with out Gay people as a whole, but Closet Cases have NO RIGHT to refer to themselves as Gay, especially if they are older than college age and/or attack other Gay people from the protection of their closet.

Gay is not just who you sleep with. It is also a culture and it has a history.

Closet Cases turn their back on this culture. All they have is the legacy of Roy Cohn.

2. There Are All Kinds of Reasons For Being In the Closet
Some people live in parts of the country where their lives would literally be in danger if they were out. Some are kept in the closet for financial reasons. Some are terrified that they will lose their families.

Not everyone in the closet is a hypocritical law-maker. Not everyone in the closet deserves your contempt.

7. I Live In A WV Town Of 2,000 People
and I am out. Kind of hard not to be when I live with my partner of 20 years. I find that the closet cases in town have a much harder time than I do. Those rednecks seem to smell fear like the school yard bully. Me and my partner are treated like any other couple and are invited to lots of straight homes for parties and other activities. I remember in high school a friend and I talking in a public place and a local redneck walked by and called my friend the N word. My friend looked shocked, held his hand in front of his eyes and said, "Oh my god, when did that happen." The redneck actually started laughing. This is an are with the KKK and more evangelical churches than I care to count but I believe people will give you the respect you demand.

4. I'm Catholic and I'm not a hypocrite.
Just because someone practices a certain genre of faith, doesn't mean they believe in every nook and cranny of that faith.

I'm mostly a Christian, not "just" a Catholic.

5. Meanwhile, Your Money Goes to Promote Hate.
And yeah; if you call yourself a catholic, you ARE supposed to believe in every nook and cranny of that faith. The catholic church doesn't think too much of people who think for themselves.

You cafeteria catholics provide the pope with the moral authority to get up before the world and say that homosexuality is a sin and the women who have abortions are evil. So yeah, if you don't believe those things, you ARE a hypocrite.

The church is not a democracy. You can't vote on a new leader if you don't like the current one's policies. That goes for your local priest, too. Consequently, when the pope speaks his hate, he is speaking for YOU.

You're either in or your out.
