Stupak primary help

I have family in Bart Stupak's district who are active in local Democratic politics.

I have it on good authority that if a candidate is willing to step into the ring that several local county leaders will work to secure the necessary signatures by the deadline.

One county in particular has told the Stupak campaign not to ask him for help this year - the specifics will be available soon - I believe they are going to issue a press release and I don't want to step on their message.

So, as of now, there isn't a primary challenger, but the apparatus to support on is being built as we speak. They just need someone to step up.

2. Pro-choice and pro-health care reform is what they are looking for.

And pro - Great Lakes preservation, of course.

What a primary challenge means in practical terms is that the Michigan Democratic Party must remain neutral during the primary campaigns and cannot spend money to assist either candidate.
