Call Pantex (Amarillo nuclear weapons plant) regarding security guard who is right-wing hatemonger |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 02:46 PM by Hugabear
http://www.pantex.com/contactUs/index.htmThis is reference to a DU thread about someone who works for Pantex as a security guard, who also happens to be the head of a right-wing hate group targeting groups it deems "offensive". I'm sure that's not the image that Pantex would want their workers to be sending. Let alone the fact that these workers probably have to undergo extremely vigorous screening upon hire, and he could potentially have access to nuclear materials. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=7856301&mesg_id=7858006

1. This is a Texas company that makes weapons of mass destruction. |
|
I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that this idiots viewpoints probably aren't all that uncommon there. The rest of them may not act on it like he and his little cult do, but they probably agree with him.

I'll be contacting them Monday morning. This is pretty terrifying that he has access to a nuclear armament facility.

3. Pantex is a Dept. of Energy facility so don't expect much |
|
to happen unless the guy is charged with a crime. As long as what he is doing is legal, no matter how loathsome, the DOE will ignore his private life. Especially if there is any remote tie-in to religion.

If he has access to sensitive areas a security clearance is required. The process of obtaining such a clearance is a total risk evaluation. I was in Command and Control in the AF w/ ^top secret clearance; it required a three day psych evaluation. They can pull a clearance for almost anything.

I carried a DOE TS at a different DOE weapons facility for about 30 years. There were quite a few folks that I considered whacko but as long as they stayed legal and passed the psych exams no action was taken. SCARY!!!

6. Remind them of the wave of right-wing, anti-government terrorism. |
|
Right-wing terrorist Joe Stack flew a plane into a building. Right-wing terrorist John Patrick Bedell shot two men at the Pentagon. Right-wing terrorist James von Brunn shot two men at the Holocaust Museum. If David Grisham is going to be one of the next right-wing extremists to attack America, I DON'T want him working in a nuclear bomb facility when that happens.

13. And what "left winger" would be working in a nuclear bomb factory? |
|
Certainly isn't at the top of my list. Of course, neither is living in Amarillo.

14. I've known some left wingers who worked at Rocky Flats |
|
outside Denver, where they made the triggers for nuclear bombs.
However, your question is irrelevant. The fundamental question remains: If it's okay to fire a right winger because of his political activities outside the work place, then isn't it also okay to do the same to a left winger?

17. The term is "whackjob", not "terrorist". |
|
Seriously, the term "terrorist" has been dumbed down to mean "people I don't like". Kind of like how everyone is a "hero" now.
It is obnoxious how both the left and the right throw those terms around at the drop of a hat.

Can only Muslims be terrorists? Are abortion clinic bombers terrorists? Are "eco-terrorists" terrorists? Is the guy who flew a plane into a building a terrorist?

ter·ror·ism /ˈtɛrəˌrɪzəm/ Show Spelled Show IPA –noun 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. 2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization. 3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.
Read the article and see what this man and his group is doing to his victims. It doesn't just mean the use of bombs, it can be the systematic intimidation that this group is conducting. And if not stopped now, it could get far worse.

23. Being a loathesome jackass does not make one a "terrorist". |
|
Sorry, but ninnies getting a case of the vapors doesn't count. The world is full of dirtbags, learn to live with it. I'm really sick of pathetic souls going all apoplectic at the slightest offense to their fragile sensibilities. This is no better than the Freepers that freak out over Teh Homosexual Conspiracy, Teh Communists, Teh Evilutionists, and all the other bogeymen their fevered imaginations dream up.
The real world is full of assholes, and I count the delicate flowers and drama queens that go hyperbolic at the drop of a hat among them. We need less of them.

They look up the names and addresses of each customer, then inform them of this as they leave that they know this info. They tarnish their names and go after their jobs so that these people will live in terror of their worldview. These people are not delicate flowers, they are intent on causing harm to their opponents.

25. So Prop 8 opponents (California gay marriage ban) terrorists then? |
|
Gay marriage supporters do the same kind of thing in California. By your standards, they are "terrorists" instead of sociopaths and assholes. I don't approve of these tactics in general, but they are widespread in the Democrat party as well.
By the way, making people live in terror is not the definition of terrorism. If harrassment is causing you terror, you have as big of a mental and emotional problem as the harrasser.
