Lynn Woolsey Will Introduce A Bill With A Public Option

EXCERPT:
...Sargent:

I want to clarify one point I should have made the other day: Woolsey also told me she’d introduce a bill creating a public option on the same day as voting for the Senate measure.

Let's hope it comes to the floor. Up-or-down vote, and we'll see what happens.

I lived in Rep. Woolsey's district for many years. I've spoken with her on more than one occasion, and she is as blunt and honest and direct as any federal official I've ever met. It saddened me to move out of her district because even though I still live in a Democratic district, I doubt I'll ever have a better Congressional representative.

In all the years I lived in her district, I never once had reason to question Lynn Woolsey's motives or her integrity. Emotions are running high, in the health care debate, and some good people are making bad mistakes, but Lynn Woolsey is one of the good ones. She's on our side. The people's side...

1. Sherrod Brown will vouch for her.
The PO has never been dead, regardless of what the GOP/media claims.

2. thanks for the clarification
I was upset to hear about her defection to her roots. It's good to know she is working all the time.

3. The House has already demonstrated it supports a public option.
It was included in their HCR legislation.

The problem again with a bill like this is counting to 60 in the Senate.

4. The problem is believing the goddamn lie that you need to count to 60 in the Senate.
50 votes plus Joe Biden is all that's needed. Let the Repukes filibuster, if they have the balls. Spineless Reid needs to do his goddamn job and LEAD.

5. I like Woolsey but she has lost of respect lately
by her support for Blue Dog Jane Harman over a real progressive candidate, Marcy Winograd has lost her some respect. I would think she would want someone who would support her views in Congress rather than a Republican with a D after their name.

If she wants a Healthcare Bill with a PO, she won't get much support for it from Harman. From Winograd she would be assured of support for progressives issues, such as ending the wars which Harman supports.

6. I proudly claim her as mine
I had to stop calling her office because I felt it was just wasting the time of her people. And then they'd send a follow-up letter, which I also had to ask them to stop sending because I don't want them wasting money.

It's nice to know she fully represents me even when I don't have to communicate with her.
