School Board ACLU settlement causes religious bigotry to raise it's head.
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 06:49 PM by Lint Head
In my county the school board was sued because the schools allowed Gideon Bibles to be past out in school and school officials were making students pray during school functions. Basically the school board settled the case (lost) and were fined $100.00. This situation has caused outrage among religious bigots that is demonstrated in the local paper. Here you can read what we as progressives are up against when we're fighting this type of mindset.
You can navigate around the entire paper and read some interesting, or boring, local stuff too.

What so frustrates me so much is that people don't understand that Jews, Buddhists, Atheists, Hindus, Muslims and yes even Wiccans send their children to public school. We have freedom of religion and freedom from religion. We are supposed to have freedom period!

3. I read the letters to the Editor. Isn't it strange how some of the writers...
...rant about "stepping on my Constitutional Rights" ??

The ignorance is simply amazing.
