Join me in a hearty "FUCK YOU PHILLIP MORRIS" as I celebrate 6 months of being smoke-free
Dear Phillip Morris,

For nearly 25 years I was addicted to your product. It started with my Grandfathers' addiction which was passed on to my father and then to me. It was re-enforced by the notion that smoking was cool, because let's face it, Bruce Willis(John McClain), Mel Gibson(Det. Riggs) and Don Johnson(Det. Crockett) showed that it was indeed cool.

But with the help of Chantix I have been able to finally break the addiction and for the first time in over half my life, I am no longer a slave to you or your product!

So FUCK YOU Phillip Morris and all the other cigarette companies that have deceived millions!

I no longer need you!

6 Months Smoke Free as of 3/5/2010

I can hardly believe it, but I'll be seven years on May 14. And I chewed, too. Usually at the same time.

17. 1998..Phillip Morris admitted they ADDED stuff to make tobacco more addictive.
I was SO mad I quit smoking that day.
Day 4 was rough, but after that, my anger was greater than any cravings that popped up.

So thanks, Phillip Morris aka Altria...you have saved me a ton of money and to this day I am
nicotine free and STILL pissed at you.

One day at a time, it really works, JANdad......anger is helpful indeed.

It has helped when nothing else does for many (probably hundreds of thousands of people). Don't believe everything you read, especially when it might be written by the cigarette companies.

48. 15 years smoke free here
Just remember that if you think just smoking one little cigarette is OK you're wrong. Once a smoker always a smoker. Just don't ever give in to the one little cigarette (which is quite easy) and you'll be a non-smoker for the rest of your life.

I began smoking when I was 14 and was a smoker for 23 years. When Eddie Izzard ran 43 marathons in 51 days, he inspired me to quit for good. It feels wonderful to be liberated from the evil tobacco corporate overlords. :hi:

51. Question for people who started smoking in the 1970s or later:
Why did you start? I'm just curious, because the anti-smoking message was already fairly strong when I was a kid in the '70s, and I never considered smoking. Plus, it's costly. Was it really the "cool" factor, or to buck the establishment, or ...? Not trying to be critical or sanctimonious -- just curious why the "don't smoke" message didn't "take" in your case.

... over a year and a half now, for me. Chantix did it for me too, after trying almost everything else and failing. I won't say I never get the urge, but then all I need do is think back to how hard it was to quit. It's a no-brainer then, problem solved.
