Politically, religiously, and culturally, my film was
A Serious Man.

but in no way did I believe that it would get the Oscar nod...too nuanced.

I personally believe that it is the tale of modern mankind which has not evolved dramatically from the tale of ancient mankind. So many themes, so little time.

1. It was VERY nuanced...
I didn't get to see Hurt Locker or The Messenger. Nor did I even want to see Precious or The Blind Side. I DID see An Education and thought it was excellent. Julie and Julia was my favorite, along with Up in the Air, both FINE movies...

2. Loved that movie
I remember being left sort of stupefied after the last scene. After a few moments, I realized that the ending was pitch perfect.

3. Same here.
I was like, "that's it???" And then I was like, "Ah,that is it". Life goes on, you win some you lose some.

5. My wife and I watched A Serious Man just before the
Academy Awards. We're way behind on movie watching due to diminished income this past year.

I found the movie fascinating, troubling, and compelling. I understand why did not win, though. It is a film that would simply puzzle most people.

6. I said to my wife after it was over,
"You don't have to be Jewish to love Levy's Rye, but lots going on in THIS film..."
