Durbin: U.S. health care in "unsustainable situation", reform needed
"CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) -- U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says to let health care reform die on the operating table is unthinkable.

"Republicans say 'Do nothing'. If you do nothing health insurance is going to become so expensive businesses can't afford to offer it to their employees, individuals can't afford to buy it," Durbin said Monday during a stop in the Metro East.

"This is an unsustainable situation."

Durbin, the assistant majority leader in the Senate, made his comments two days before President Barack Obama arrives in St. Louis as part of his campaign to push through his health care reform proposal."
