Russia is gettting pushy. all our allies are tired of being our better target. War is coming. Our choice was made when Obama told the pentagon to expect upgrades.

Before the Chimp was selected by the Gang of 5 I predicted in the first year:
America would be in a War in the Middle East or Central Asia the Dollar would tank Gas would be over $3.00 a gallon
If a Pub is elected Pres in Nov 11 with a Pub Congress, I would highly recommend moving to Canada before Jan 12.
It sucks being right all the time.

of their guru, Hitler, and we will have another world war with all the destruction that comes with it because China no doubt will pull their debt. We will have to print money to cover it and we will have rampant inflation, not only here, but every where in the world that uses the dollar standard for their money. We will have to have continuing wars to control the situation and we will go down in flames.

Generally female gonads are internal, so externally she should look identical, with or without gonads.
Your comment is equally inane. Since when is asking a question "spreading doom and gloom?"

All the Republicans would be able to do is prevent Obama from accomplishing anything. Also, they would begin impeachment proceedings almost immediately. And they would block any Federal or Supreme Court nominees who are not from the extreme right end of the spectrum.

19. It will be hard for the GOP to do much of anything on a worldwide scale |
|
If the economic situation continues to deteriorate, it is hard to imagine that China and others would finance MORE wars for us to fight. I doubt that Americans will be much in the mood for anything from Washington but a laser focus on domestic political issues like jobs. Millions more people coming to the end of the line of their finances around 2012 will make for quite a large pool of pissed off people.

25. I just don't understand it. I really don't. |
|
The result of a GOP victory and control of Congress is too hideous to simply accept. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I'll be damned if I'll just whine about it. There are campaigns to support, and good, progressive candidates to elect.
The encouragement by some for DUers to just give up and sit this one out seems tantamount to working for the other side. As I've seen for my entire adult life, it is elections that choose our government, and there's one about to happen.
Others can sit and cry in their beers. I'll be out trying to GOTV for candidates I support.

and vote straight party tickets. the Democrats sit home and complain, and those who actually do vote, tend to split tickets. GOP wins, democrats complain more, wonder why their pols are so conservative.
I don't understand why Liberals claim to be smart...they can't understand something this simple.

Sometimes it seems like some people want to see Democrats just give up and stay home. I'm always surprised to see that here on DU. It sometimes seems like there are agents provocateurs around and about. I'd never accuse any individual of that, but it sure seems like it sometimes.

|
If you look at Freak Republikkk, they have their own schism. Most of them want Palin or some far-right teabagger. They hate Mitt Romney with a passion, and they vow to NEVER cast a vote for him or any other 'RINO.'
But a minority over there says 'we have to vote for whoever stands a chance against Obama,' meaning whatever mainstream Republican, even if it's Romney.
They don't vote "straight ticket" any more than we do.

|
Edited on Thu Mar-11-10 06:36 AM by MilesColtrane
One thing's a certainty in that scenario. Health Care Reform is killed and remains out of sight until the next time Democrats control the WH and both houses of Congress.
Here's what we got after losing the House and Senate during Clinton's first term.
1996-02-01 - Communications Decency Act 1996-02-08 - Telecom Reform Act: eliminated major ownership restrictions for radio and television groups. 1996-03-14 - authorized $100 million counter-terrorism agreement with Israel to track down and root out terrorists. 1996-04-09 - Line Item Veto Act 1996-04-24 - Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act 1996-08-20 - Minimum wage Increase Act 1996-09-21 - Defense of Marriage Act, allowed states to refuse recognition of certain same-sex marriages, and defined marriage as between a male and female for purposes of federal law
The Line Item Veto Act was struck down by the courts, leaving only the Minimum Wage increase as the only bright spot IMO.
