Did Anybody Just See Kucinich On Ed's Show?........
I happened to just miss the segment. What did Dennis have to say? Is he on board with the vote or not?

1. If he doesn't get exactly what he wants he is going to
kick the whole Democratic party under the bus.

4. I think Ed wanted to slap him.
Maybe Dennis is using psychology. But I would rather see him come on board and bolster the bill. Democrats cant seem to keep from "Lord-of-the-flies-ing" each other.

16. Sadly, Big Ed is back in his "Everything the President Does is Beautiful" mindset and nothing ...
is going to shake him out of it now.

We have to realize that this Administration serves the Insurance Cartel and Big Pharma first, foremost and always.

Something like that.

14. He would be on board if they would allow states to go
single payer. Seems he is up against "For Profit Insurance Companies or Die".

15. That's funny, because the Senate bill has this provision
Under the Senate bill, each state is allowed to set up a non-profit option to the Insurance industry. Guess it wasn't Dennis' exact proposal, so it doesn't count.

like the disastrous BCBS.

19. No State-Run Non-Profits. And if you think BCBS is non-profit, you're delusional.
The Senate Bill provides for State Run Non-Profits options and provides them federal funding for creating them.

23. That provision would also allow insurance companies to sue
those states that attempted to do so. That would be a convoluted mess. Take that out. He also wants a public option.

20. It's not a start but only for the poor and wealthy. For the working classes it's CHAINS of MANDATES
that are ever present. If we get a serious illness, working people will have to "declare bankruptcy" without a robust Public Option. NO, 40 promises from democratic senators will NOT pass the Public Option in reconciliation.

We're being punked by "slight of hand" and "promises" by those who are getting contributions, i.e., corporate democrats and useful idiot progressives who *believe* in promises.

7. global1, DK said that the bill was a giant giveaway to big insurance ....
Edited on Tue Mar-09-10 06:50 PM by Mika
... also, bill has no price (of ins. policy premiums) controls - therefore insurance co's will be able to price people w/pre existing condition out. The bill is to the insurance biz what the bank bailouts were to the big banks.

Edited on Tue Mar-09-10 07:48 PM by Generator
Moon bats is what the freepers and the rest call people on DU in case you didn't know. And saying someone is crazy is the easiest way to demean them. But it doesn't answer the question. What are the cost controls?

AND I never ceased to be amazed at how easy it is for people to believe that insurance companies are the good guys. There are no cost controls and that is what makes it a sham. How could there be cost controls when the insurance lobby owns our senators? Lincoln..Lierbeman..Nelson.. on and on. That makes no sense. Did they lobby to LOSE profit? Oh no. Watch the stock market on insurance stocks after this passes.

They have to use 80 percent of the premimums for health care. That just gives them more incentive to find ways to not pay claims and make more profit. As long as the goal is profit it can't be health care. Nothing in this bill fixes that.
