I get it Kooch and ideally I agree with all of your goals
However, by law our government can not shut down an established, legal industry. There are lots of legal ways to implement a single-payer system without going full-on communist.

Dennis, your heart is in the right place, but your head is in freaking la-la land. Do some serious soul searching and get with the freaking program.

2. Leave that to the courts to decide. If they want to go head to head with Congress then let them.

8. What bothers me
is not those criticizing Kucinich. It's a message board. Politicians should be criticized. They're all fair game. People have every right to criticize something or someone they don't agree with. I have no issue with that.

But those that are criticizing Kucinich are some of the same ones who get all bent out of shape when someone criticizes a politician that they like and support, mainly Obama.

How is criticizing Kucinich to this extent any different than those who criticize Obama to this extent? Two wrongs don't make a right. Both sides, when criticizing to this extent, really are bringing nothing productive to the table. It's just childish and immature. Fine, you don't like Kucinich (or Obama or fill-in-the blank). Point taken. But some of these threads (on both sides) are just overkill.

5. stop using GOP framing
single payer is NOT "communism". it would be an OPTION competing with oh-so-efficient private insurers.

write Kucinich off - he's going to stand on principle here.

11. the "freaking program" is part and parcel of the problem...
It's my opinion that the "freaking program" is part and parcel of the problem.

Convention (i.e., the "freaking program") may be fine in many instances, but when it becomes a justification for its own existence, I have very few problems with anyone pointing that out.

13. And how do you suppose we could get a majority to go along with Single payer???
We can't even get a solid majority to go for the public option!

17. declaration of intent isn't necessarily the most effective political tool available
Granted, an individual's sincere declaration of intent isn't necessarily the most effective political tool available. Indeed, far too often one has little to do with the other.

As for your specific question-- I have no idea... for, as it stands, far too many elected representatives take far too much money from the Insurance PACs; in other words, too many reps are part of the "freaking program".

What a ridiculous comment.

If you could classify Kucinich as a communist, I kind of doubt that you share many of his ideals.

18. And that industry must be protected? People must be forced
to buy from them, no matter what, no option, no choice, compelled by law to contribute to those businesses? Obama keeps claiming that their profits are some sort of birth right of theirs, deserved rather than earned, and I do not agree with that. If they can not compete then they fail, that's business. Forced purchase is piracy.
Your hyperbole and slander does not cover up that you are claiming it has to be all profit, with custom forced by law.
