Actor political activist Will Geer's birthday (in case you missed this he was blacklisted)

March 9, 1902 - Actor Will Geer was born. Best known for his role as Grandpa Walton in the TV series, “The Waltons,” Geer appeared in the groundbreaking film “Salt of the Earth” and was blacklisted for his activism on labor and political issues.

The real quote uses the term privy instead of outhouse but nobody knows that word anymore.

4. I knew his daughter many years ago in summer stock theatre in Delaware.
He was a real American Liberal or Progressive, whatever you would like to call him today. He truly believed in progressivism and was a passionate spokesperson for his cause.
