Circular firing squad now forming. Apply within.
Primary Dennis Kucinich????

What, pray tell, has Mr. K. done or said that is contrary to what the Democatic Party is SUPPOSED to be all about?

The only criticism I've heard boils down to "He refuses to simply talk the talk. He INSISTS on walking the walk!" So, Mr. K. is just "too liberal" to be a Democrat?

Anyone who would oppose Dennis Kucinich in the primary should have to wear a sign saying "Blue Dog for hire". If this comes about, will the last liberal leaving the party please turn out the lights?

5. In the important votes, he votes with the Republicans
That makes him no different than a Nelson or a Stupak.

Bottom line, talk is cheap. What counts are the votes.

10. You say "talk is cheap" and yet it is you who says that Dennis Kucinich
is no different than Nelson or Stupak AND that he votes "with" the Republicans!

You are entitled to disagree with him, but that borders on slander. It is disingenuous AT BEST and weasel-word bullshit at the worst.

physician payment reform, the pay as you go act, Obama's Budget, consumer protection act and even the reprimand of Joe "You lie" Wilson.

All no votes with Republicans.

When the entire progressive caucus votes for a bill and Dennis votes no, he isn't voting against "Centrist Republicrat" policy.

29. DK was crystal clear about WHY he voted NO.
To insinuate he was voting against a "Progressive" bill is willfully (and woefully) misleading.

You should have watched him on Big Eds Show tonight.
He was impressive.
You would have hated his open display of what the Democratic Party used to stand for.
Remember THIS Democratic Party?
"In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America’s own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for our citizens.---FDR

Kucinich remind me of what the Democratic Party once was.
Sometimes he channels FDR.

"I welcome their hatred."
I'm sure Dennis welcomes yours, or at least couldn't care less.
Me too.
:hi:

9. What counts are the votes
Kucinich is opposed to the Insurance Mandate and Corporate Welfare Bill for completely different reasons than the Republicans.

Kucinich is what a Democrat used to be. Obama and the Centrist/Blue Dogs are just trying to jam anything through that has the HCR label on it to save their butts in the 2010 elections. A good progressive is under no obligation to go corporatist Democrat.

15. And, if some fence-sitters decide to support a public option in order to get Kucinich's suddenly
"all important" single vote and HCR passes WITH a PO, then what?

Will he still deserve a primary?

He is different, but he is a liberal and he has balls of brass. If we had a few more like him, we might not "need" those Blue Dog "Democrats".

were holding true to traditional Democratic values and ACTING ON THEM.

(We'd also likely still have a Democratic Senator from Massachusetts and be looking to increase our majorities in the House and Senate).

33. In Saskatchewan
we received *free hospital services in 1947 and *free doctor services in 1962. We now have Conservative governments in Ottawa and Regina. Both of these Conservative governments would not dare to change our Medicare System against the wishes of the voters.

There are constant changes to our system, improvements over time. No plan developed by humans will ever be perfect, and expecting perfection is the best way to make sure that nothing happens at all.

I hope that Americans get a system that they are happy with. It is amazing how it will change your lives. I was a maintenance man in a grocery store and I retired at 53 because I was sure about health care.

*free as in no out of pocket expenses. Of course they are paid for out of the tax system.

Fuck the Democratic party. A useless feckless spineless corrupted and co-opted organization.

Ain't gonna happen. Not now, not ever.

re-registered as an independent (and then a Green) the day the president stood up and pooped on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, not to mention international law (by condoning "prolonged detention without charges," or the denial of habeas-corpus-related rights).

They do not deserve the fine registrants who are members of their party (the Dem Party's leaders).
