Rep. Dennis Kucinich is absolutely ineffective. |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-09-10 09:20 PM by Cerridwen
He saw a UFO, he's an older man married to a younger woman, he looks like a Keebler elf, and he can't get elected president, and in spite of the co-sponsors signing on to many of his bills, he doesn't work well with others.
That's why I must spend as much time as I can posting at DU telling everyone how ineffective he is. He does not speak for the party and I'm here to tell you that I'll do my best to discredit this completely ineffective politician who has seen a UFO, married a younger woman, looks like an elf, and can't get elected for president.
If you question my president I'll say, hey, look, Kucinich did it, too. Or worse.
Hey, guys, either he's ineffective or he's getting out the message.
Pick one; or many. Quit trying to make it a zero sum game.

Let's agree to disagree. It's not for you to force your own opinion on us who support Dennis.

10. Oh, and all the capitulation is accomplishing so much. |
|
Giving in to the conservatives on every issue like most of our Democrats do is NOT effective. Sure, they might pass some legislation, but it generally doesn't do any good for anyone but the corporations.

13. you know, on the UFO thing... |
|
despite the media trying to make him sound like a complete nut, my impression was that he was saying that he saw something. in the sky. flying. he didn't know what it was. Hence, an Unidentified Flying Object. UFO.
I did NOT get the impression that he was saying that he thought we were being observed by little green men (or Streiber grays, or whatever).
I'm going to take the high road and assume you're being sarcastic, rather than really attacking someone for being odd-looking. And I won't touch the younger woman bit at all.

15. Cult of personality is wrong no matter who does it |
|
chew on that.
By the way, that goes for kuch fans as well, but marrying a younger woman ain't a crime, or perhaps it is in your eyes, which tells me more about YOU... seeing a UFO... given HOW MANY Americans have seen UFOs... some who even REACHED the WH... shocked... and looks. Well, you know Lincoln would not be elected these days either.
But "question my president," that is a clear sign and symptom of that other disease which is more serious... aka cult of personality.

17. Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan also claimed that they'd seen UFO's. |
|
Also, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, William Shatner and Jackie Gleason.
Of course, they are ALL also worthless, ineffective and "can't get elected president".

Yep, that;s good criteria for selecting a candidate.
Married to a younger woman? Maybe you should mind your own fucking business.
An ineffective politician? So is the guy that lives in the White House. And most of the rest of Congress.
Does not speak for the party? Who says? I'm a Dem and he speaks for me better than the guy who lives in the White House. And better than my own elected representatives.
Has seen a UFO? So? I'm not well acquainted with celestial and flying bodies either. Some of the things that move in the sky I can't identify either. I'm told however that if you know what to look for that you can observe a lost astronaut toolbag rotating the earth.
Dennis is far from perfect but so far as I can tell he is a whole hell of alot better than the guy that lives in the White House. Why? Because Dennis at least has a few progressive inclinations. Unlike the bought and paid for corporate loyalists that occupy the White House and populate most of Cpngress.

|
he must be doing something right. she`s a very interesting lady.
plus he`s being reelected by the people in his district so that`s their problem. if they do`t like him they`ll get rid of him.....maybe some folks should worry about what their reps are doing...

The as for the rest of your post, anger management classes might do the trick because I don't really see much substance there, just name calling.

Really, they speak for themselves. I don't think he looks like an elf, who cares if he saw a UFO - a lot of well-respected people see them, and good for him for getting himself a hot, young, intelligent woman. But again, if you're going to vote with the Republicans on every huge issue because of an all-or-nothing mentality, frankly, you've just earned yourself some good 'ol lefty criticism.

30. This has been entertaining. |
|
I had wireless (LAN and mouse) issues and a high school friend called.
In the interim, I've received replies that have hit many points on the spectrum of the political divides.
Quite entertaining and informative. A couple of you "got" it.
For those who missed it, for those who don't know my posting history, or some combination thereof, the OP was sarcasm.
Unrec, rec, reply, don't reply, as you see fit.
I'm a long time political activist and observer of message catapults, and a feminist to boot. I've been sitting under this bus so long I have running water plumbed, quite nice draperies, an inside "outhouse," and many other amenities.
And I can't prove any of it. Because this is the internet. One's "liberal/Democratic/progressive" creds are only as good as one's IP address and proof that one is the only user of said address.
The number of values supporting the status quo that are adopted by the people of the US is disheartening; but not surprising.
The marketing has been successful.
Excuse me while I go watch American Idol or some such.

They will just start spending corporate money to oust him. Thanks SC for another great ruling. Poor Roberts, his feelings were hurt!!
I really like DK, and am proud of him for standing up for his principles. And his wife is good looking-so what.
As for American Idol, I like the girl with the dreadlocks, and another one-I forgot her name.
