Republicans demand to know why Christian Right leader, Tony Perkins, was uninvited from event
One of the top Republicans in the House of Representatives wants answers from Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

The Brody File has obtained a letter sent from House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (and Congressman Roy Blunt) to Defense Secretary Robert Gates asking him to explain why the Air Force rescinded a prayer luncheon invitation to conservative Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

“This action troubles us a great deal, not only in this particular case, but because of the implications for anyone who might disagree with the Administration in the future.”

“What is clear from this letter (from the letter sent by Lt. Col. Gary Bertsch to Tony Perkins) is the establishment of a new litmus test: if one disagree with the President, that person is not welcome to participate in military activities.”

Leader of the homophobes, a speaker to the Council of Conservative Citizens; sounds like real American hero, doesn't he?

1. Why is the military having a "prayer" luncheon in the first place?

11. Why can't they?
The only issue would be if it's mandatory and I doubt it is.

People can have many facets - you can be both a member of the military and a Christian/Muslim/Jew/Agnostic/Atheist.

2. Maybe it's because Perkins isn't a military man?
I'm sure he's a war monger, but he has (probably) never served in any branch of the armed forces. Just speculation. Or maybe the U.S. Air Force just has no use for him because he's a blowhard.

4. Ooooh, the implications for anyone who might disagree with the Administration
Let's just say it's a private prayer breakfast, shall we? Like all those "private" presidential appearances by Dumbya where people were screened out because of shirts they might be wearing or bumper stickers on the cars they drove to the event.

Republicans have to be the whiniest titty-babies on the planet.

9. Separation of Church and State, Fuckwads!
The question is not why was a relgious nut not invited to a prayer luncheon, but why the fucking Air Force is sponsoring a fucking prayer luncheon!
