WTF I just called Bart Stupak's office and the first thing I was asked was were I |
|
was calling from and I said Florida and the man said he could not take my call because I wasn't from Michigan. I think if a congressman is holding up a bill by obstructionism, (re: impossible abortion language) anyone should be able to contact them.
BTW - I did call last week and I told them I knew that he was being paid by The Family and that I believed that he was being paid again by someone to put this bill up since it basically puts a stop to health care reform.
I wanted to add that if he were so much against abortion that he would not have run as a Democrat.
And to be fair he did say that he had other calls waiting that were from Michigan. But in this case he is not representing Michigan he is representing the whole country.

It's maddening when he can hold up the entire country with obstruction but his office is correct. We can't vote for or against him so we don't matter.
Edited to add: That, of course, will not stop anybody from contributing to his primary opponent and maybe mentioning that will get the call taken.

8. Pelosi's office refuses to take calls from people outside of California too |
|
I tried complaining that as Speaker she ought to hear from all of us, to no avail.
FWIW - I have never had a Speaker's office (R or D) refuse to take comments before Pelosi.

10. and that is even more wrong since she is the majority leader in the house. Who do they think they |
|
are? Seriously. They have positions which affect the country as a whole
I am from California, and sometimes I can't get through to Pelosi's office
I can hardly wait tell I get a letter from the DNC with her picture on it
Al Frankin's office always takes my calls, and so do a lot of other people in Congress, even if I am not from their state
