1. Wasn't the NF list once considered a "crazy" lefty CT prior to public knowledge? |
|
I haven't tried to board a plane, so I dunno...

4. Interesting question - I stopped flying commercial years ago |
|
because I won't be treated like cattle, and since 9/11 I won't have anyone putting their hands on me.
I figure I'm on the no fly list as a result of being slightly off kilter and becaue of some of my -uh- editorials years ago.........

2. My 13 year old son gets extra scrutiny when he flies. |
|
Apparently he shares a name with an IRA bomber from the 1980's. They let him on, but they always pull him aside for a closer search. It doesn't matter much to me, because I made the decision a couple of years ago to stop flying commercially. Thanks to the security and price changes, driving to anything within 500 miles of me is usually faster, cheaper, and more comfortable.

3. I had to fly a few times shortly after 9/11 and I was on some kind of list. |
|
I missed three of four flights because I was questioned. It was never made clear to me why but I think it may have something to do with more than a few arrests for protesting. I stayed off of planes for about five years from 03 to 07 and after that I've gone right through.

5. Wouldn't be surprised. |
|
Haven't been in an airport since 2003, so I'm not really sure. I know I got some "extra attention" at the Tucson airport last time I was there, but that was probably a case of "short man syndrome" with the 5'5" rent a cop TSA stooge singling out the biggest guy in line, just to satisfy his need for a "power trip".

6. Don't know, don't care, |
|
Haven't flown since 9/11 and won't fly unless it is overseas or a truly dire emergency. First of all I don't like how airlines and airline "service" has deteriorated while rates have gone up. Nor am I a big fan of willingly submitting myself to being poked, prodded and scrutinized.

She now lives in Turkey and flies into the US ... she gets to talk to a lot of people.

which has always made me wonder how long it will be before they catch an Anglo Muslim trying to get an explosive on a plane.
