Toyota Reaches Out
TOKYO JP - Toyota launched a multi-channel public relations campaign in attempt to shine the tarnish of stuck accelerators on their most popular models. Web ads featuring smiling customers with thanks for customer loyalty are abundant across the internet. TV ads are expected to saturate the major networks over the next few days. In addition to the campaign Toyota has also added new support features for new cars purchased after January 1. The new standard package includes, air bag refills, glass and front end repair as well as brake pads for life. Toyota spokesmen could not be reached to verify the Press Release.

4. Their problems seem to be getting worse by the day
they attempt to put this band-aid on it, but it won't go away so easily

7. I was thinking that today after hearing of yet another Prius smash-up. It makes
you wonder how many of these incidents occurred that never made it to the light before this big brouhaha. People probably thought they were 'freak incidents'.

8. What I find really sad about this is that Toyota truly did make a quality product
back in the day ( I had an '88 Camry that still went strong with a massive oil leak and 194k on it ) these problems seem to be fairly recent, so it tells me that someone, somewhere is massively fucking up on their quality test procedures. I hope they fix it, I really do

Sticking accelerators was one of a few problems reported

9. Agree -- you could totally trust a Toyota.
While watching the hearings, the President said he'd just recently taken the reins. I wonder if a predecessor, in the interest of the almighty dollar, made some 'harmless' changes to add to the bottom line. As you say, there are a myriad of problems. Is Toytoa still claiming the electronics are okay? Whatever the problem(s), it seems to affect different models and years, so it must be something integral to all their vehicles?

11. Yup...Celicas, Camrys had electrical problems as I recall
mainly, power windows and sunroofs were shorting out or getting stuck. The Camry I had only started doing that every once in a while.

This is a fascinating site....check this out when you have a chance

http://www.carsurvey.org/

There are testimonials from hundreds of car owners ( new and old makes, models ). You make an interesting point in your last sentence. For example, if you click on Ford Taurus and read the testimonials you will see that they are notorious for transmission problems....why just the Taurus? Or check out certain years of the Honda Civic ( those are some funny reviews )

14. A couple years ago when I was researching a new car
I noticed a disturbing trend with Toyotas. If you had a problem you were dead to Toyota. A lot of people had issues with things like engine oil turning to goo then the engine seizing. Toyota kept brushing people off as driver error. Then I think they changed the engine design and the problem went away miraculously.

6. Ha! Cute.
Toyota's response has been so crappy and its track record of lying has been exposed -- I'm sure your satire will fool more than a few.
