BREAKING - Gov. McDonnell separates from AG, issues order against discrimination
By now many people have heard of the letter from Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli attempting to end the practice of state universities having explicit non-discrimination policies against gays. There have been a series of pushbacks, including by Republicans who were embarrassed (they should be) and worried about the impact.

The story breaking today, as you can read in this Richmond Times-Dispatch piece (which is getting updated as more details become available), Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell

this afternoon issued an Executive Directive against employment discrimination.

2. They are only shooting themselves in the foot if they endorse it...
As a born and bred-Virginian, I would personally like to ass-kick both of those douchebags into the Chesapeake Bay during jellyfish season!

The governor is all about jobs right now, if they fail to deliver that because of the AG's statements his future in politics is doomed. He doesn't give a damn about protecting gays, that's for sure.

11. Didn't he rescind the earlier governor's order to that effect?
Why the change in his mind?

12. not a rescission. he just didn't issue it when he came into office
each new governor issues their own directives. Kaine issued the employment discrimination directive on his first day in office. McDonnell, until now, has been sitting on his hands. The fallout from Cucinelli's missive apparently forced McDonell's hand.

13. That's fine, but I still won't vote for the knuckle-dragging bible-thumping POS.
I want my state back, dammit!
