2. Possible suicide
Don't jump to conclusions just because you've chosen to hate an industry.

4. I don't have a lot of respect for Big Pharma
But my point, which didn't come across, I guess, was that there have been a string of high-profile deaths lately from prescription drug interactions.

6. I dont see how it's their fault
it is a prescription drug. Which means you're suppose to be using it with your doctors knowledge and the understanding it has some dangers that's why it requires a prescription. If people doctor shop, or find unethical people to get them these drugs in mass quantities I don't see how the industry didn't warn them of the danger. Most of these drugs have some beneficial uses. Sadly feeding addictive drugs to Hollywood stars isn't new. Read a Raymond Chandler novel. It's an old, old industry. I'm not sure what to do to prevent this since people tend to be against electronic medical records and "spying" on suspected "bad" doctors... The best society has now is the buyer beware prescription drug method with it's limited accountability.

7. If the direction say
take one every eight hours, that's not meant to be interpreted as take eight every hour.

14. No, of course it's not new
But there are too many prescription drugs available too easily, and I do not think the pharmaceutical industry is always honest about the contraindications.

10. Isn't that River Phoenix on the right?
ANOTHER tragic story.

I'm glad I wasn't a child star.

13. D'oh. I was thinking of Stand By Me
I confused Corey Feldman with River Phoenix.

Poor Cory Feldman. He's had TWO co-stars die of drug overdoses.

8. I had a right winger say today, "What if they made illegal drugs legal?
More celebrities would die." I replied, "Corey Haim died from a legal drug overdose, so did Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson and Britney Murphy."
He could say nothing more. The idiotic ideas and words that spill from fright wingers is staggering. I have to listen to this person talk this shit every day.

9. I was into that recent "reality" show about The Two Coreys

It was very clear that he had not just addiction issues but a lot of denial and other mental problems as well. I wouldn't doubt of some of his cognitive abilities were permanently damaged by the long term drug use too...

so sad, he tried briefly to get it back together , but ended up sabotging himself after all...really too bad.
:(

11. His career preceeded him to the grave.
Sad what happens to so many child actors. What's funny and cute as a kid tends to be obnoxious and pathetic as an adult.
