I don't care if Massa is gay or not; probably is. But his behavior was unbecoming of a congressman.

Now, when I say behavior, I mean both his unsolicited physical advances towards male staffers and the accusatory rhetoric he used in advance of his resignation.

1. His behavior is unbecoming of any person
And if Mr. Massa is gay he will become the 2nd person in the last few days who helped to make Gays & Lesbians look bad.

Life in the closet is stifling, but it always finds a way to come out. (No pun.)

2. I wonder if his original claim was true and he does have brain cancer
A tumor might explain his recent erratic behavior. If so, I wish someone who cares about him would help him. He seems completely out of control.

9. Not brain cancer - I had it on my mind - but a recurrence of his lymphoma
"Later in the day, Massa released a statement saying that after learning he had a recurrence of cancer, he learned he was the subject of an ethics complaint by a male staffer who felt “uncomfortable’’ during an exchange with Massa. The exchange reportedly had sexual overtones." http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2010/03/06/ny_representative_massa_to_resign_during_ethics_investigation/

"Congressman retiring — Freshman Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., will retire because of health reasons. Massa was stricken with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1996. He underwent aggressive treatment." http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/nation/story/F78DAEFB37CE765C862576DC00149BAE?OpenDocument

It's coming up on the anniversary of the last time I saw my sister before she died of brain cancer, so I was thinking about her.

4. it's the unwanted nature of his advances and his cluelessness about them
that is so bothersome.

My experience with people like this is that they've gotten away with it for a very long time and you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

5. To quote Barney Fife, "He's a Nut."
Won't waste any more time on him. As disturbed as Beck and Limbaugh.

OK, as disturbed as Beck. Nobody is up there with Limbaugh.
