This is what's wrong, people!
2009 was an economic disaster for America, right?

Millions lost their jobs and real unemployment is still about 16%.
Union autoworkers had drastic hourly wage cuts shoved down their throats.
Retirement accounts evaporated and home values plunged below the amount remaining due on many home mortgages.
Tens of millions have NO health insurance.
State and local governments are cutting jobs and services and still flirting with bankruptcy.

Everybody's hurting, right?

Bullshit, plain and simple!

See: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/HealthCare/health-insurers-post-record-profits/story?id=9818699

If that isn't enough, see: http://thinkprogress.org/2010/03/09/millionaires-16/

The gap between the haves and have-nots cannot continue getting wider. No society can long withstand the stress caused by seeing what everyone recognizes as injustice day in and day out. The resentment and anger will not fester beneath the surface forever. It will either be dealt with by peaceful political means or it will erupt as violence in the streets or outright revolution.

Restoring the Bush tax cuts and tacking on an extra 5% "wealth tax" on incomes over, say, $500,000 would be a start.
