GOP Rep. Paul Ryan's vision for a Contract on America. SCARY. No joke.

HIGHWAY TO HELL...

<snip>

Policy experts have since had a chance to scrutinize Ryan's plan in detail. As the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities explained today, the roadmap "calls for radical policy changes that would result in a massive transfer of resources from the broad majority of Americans to the nation's wealthiest individuals."

The Roadmap would give the most affluent households a new round of very large, costly tax cuts by reducing income tax rates on high-income households; eliminating income taxes on capital gains, dividends, and interest; and abolishing the corporate income tax, the estate tax, and the alternative minimum tax.

At the same time, the Ryan plan would raise taxes for most middle-income families, privatize a substantial portion of Social Security, eliminate the tax exclusion for employer-sponsored health insurance, end traditional Medicare and most of Medicaid, and terminate the Children's Health Insurance Program. The plan would replace these health programs with a system of vouchers whose value would erode over time and thus would purchase health insurance that would cover fewer health care services as the years went by.

-----------------
The kicker?

<snip>

Best of all, don't forget the punch-line: if Republicans reclaim the House majority next year, Paul Ryan will be the chairman of the House Budget Committee, directly responsible for helping write the federal budget.

single-handedly finish off the country (caption, mine)

8. it's kinda nice to see that Republicans are
embracing recycling. They just keep recycling their old ideas. Eventually they may move to recycling paper, glass, cardboard and aluminium as well.

9. This scares the shit out of me
Its amazing that this is actually being discussed in any sort of realistic manner. Its insanity makes my head feel like its going to explode. Its literally as if you took every horrible idea the republicans have had over the past 20 years and put it all together in one plan.

If this is where the republicans plan on going if they take back the house, I really dont give a shit about blue dogs anymore, we need as many democrats in congress as humanly possible. I may hate Blanche Lincoln and Evan Bayh but they look like bastions of progressivism compared to Paul Ryan and his evil bullshit. FDR would be rolling in his grave if he could see this shit.

11. These bastards will say and do ANYTHING to get the nod
from the corporatist banker scum.. neo-Feudalist zombies. And look how it's paid off for scum like Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc. Made out like bastards. Bastards who made out like bastards. Punks like this character are just the latest zombies to join the line up to suck blood. Amoral, sociopathic, political opportunists. That's what comes of having a professional political class.

I got to laugh when I hear of bureaucrat weasels such as Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc., held up as great "businessmen".. hah! None of them bastards was ever anything but a political troll.. occasionally inserted into corporations AFTER having hung around DC for years and years building up "clout" and getting on the bribe train. Businessmen my ass. Courtiers. Professional leeches.

Feh!

when asked what he wanted us to do, replied "die, die"

But, their position makes perfect sense in a country no longer concerned with growth, a country no longer confident in a future and a country that feels as though it's time to shake off the dead wood, get lean and mean and remove about a quarter of the population.......but in a stirring and patriotic way all the while promising the poor and the dying that their piece of pie in the sky is worth all the shit they're eating here and now.
