Why are republiCONS acting like.
Edited on Thu Mar-11-10 12:55 PM by butterfly77
they are concerned about Dems losing seats if they pass the healthcare bill. Is this suppose to be a threat:

Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) admitted, during a press conference organized by health policy journal Health Affairs on Thursday, that his role now is to make skeptical House Democrats even more doubtful that the Senate can change the bill it passes using reconciliation. He insisted that tough votes on non-health care related topics are bound to come up, raised the specter that the reconciliation process will shut the Senate down, and even questioned whether the president can use reconciliation in the first place.

Asked by the Huffington Post if he was trying to stir uncertainty among Democrats, the New Hampshire Republican replied: "Absolutely. We are trying to open the eyes of our colleagues on the Democratic side who are being solicited with goodies that the boat into which all these goodies are being put may not ever come to dock."

Are the Dems taking the bait?

1. The same reason they assert WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT.
They are trying to tell us what we feel. I dont think it will work. People are going to get tired of fear. Fear burnout is just as real as crisis burnout.

3. Because the opposite is true, and they know it.
If the Dems buck the trend of losing seats 2 years after a presidential win the Repukes are going to be in a world of hurt. They know that too.

4. Please don't throw me in the briar patch

Br'er Rabbit ("Brother Rabbit") is the main character of the stories, a likable character, prone to tricks and trouble-making who is often opposed by Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear. In one tale, Br'er Fox constructs a lump of tar and puts clothing on it. When Br'er Rabbit comes along he addresses the "tar baby" amiably, but receives no response. Br'er Rabbit becomes offended by what he perceives as Tar Baby's lack of manners, punches it, and becomes stuck. Now that Br'er Rabbit is stuck, Fox ponders how to dispose of him. The helpless, but cunning, Br'er Rabbit pleads, "Please don't throw me in the briar patch," prompting Fox to do exactly that. As rabbits are at home in thickets, the resourceful Br'er Rabbit escapes

8. The bill has to have something in it...
Edited on Sun Mar-14-10 12:18 PM by butterfly77
that is beneficial to many Americans why the Republicons are fighting so hard against it. I saw repubs all over the television this morning and one of them said.

The Dems will lose if they pass it or not so we may as well pass the bill. Like I said why are they so concerned about us?

Every republiCON that came on television this morning said that the AMERICAN PEOPLE don't want the bill,I guess they can't hear us or we aren't the REAL AMERICANS that sarah palin loves to talk about...
