Rachel with courage and a spine of steel took a huge Question to Speaker Pelosi just now.

After all the years of getting more and more hardened and toughened, the disaster fatigue having set in long ago, I got weepy and wide eyed a minute ago when I heard Rachel address Speaker Pelosi and ask how did she feel about the crooks getting off with no punishment.

Now Rachel was specific of course, she rattled off the transgressions that after all this time are losing a bit of punch, we all know them by heart.

But as she laid them out to Mrs. Pelosi one after the other I simple became, genuinely, a witness to two women agonizing over something neither could understand.

I know in an hour or so a video clip of the exchange will be posted, and you will be able to see for yourself that the Speaker took up the one issue of us having been lied into the war in Iraq as her personal issue to object to the most.

She told us about the President deciding to move forward and the words we all have heard before, but to me she showed in this woman to woman exchange that there were two hearts talking to each other that were both bleeding as they connected.

I think I need to get some more tissues.
Do I really have to give up on hoping these criminals will be investigated, addressed, tried, and punished?
Do we have no recourse to claim our honor and redeem our country?

The issue in my thread is the one I will never give up on, never relent on, never forgive.
I will move to Costa Rica, and eat a whole lot so I can tether myself to Rush when he arrives and keep him there, as a last favor to my country.

There is nothing that will allow me to let go of the shame and knowledge that we will be harmed for as long as this planet exists if we don't re-claim the honor of being "good" Americans.
We need to set out to educate those who have fallen into the pit of derailing a fine party, the Republican Party of old, into a cesspool of willful ignorance and destruction of this country.

I watched Rachel, too..but I was disappointed(not surprised) by madame speaker's answers. I may be too tired/sad/angry/upset to be objective right now.. I'll watch again,& again, till I can calmly watch & *understand* those answers.. but MY reaction was not the same as Yours..
Rachel was awwwsome..but I am sad & angry by Rep.Pelosi's 'position'.

What happens is that the waves of the world's appreciation about our electing Mr. Obama fade out.

They will begin to think of us as the wimps we are, not taking to the streets, putting up with crap like Health Insurance Reform instead of what benefits the people.

They will see before we do that we are still a country without representation of the people.
We are a country of serving the corporations, and we give them the clout to buy our representatives, and as a collective mass are too uneducated,
too pre-occupied with survival, too hungry to notice and to start screaming.
It's understandable, and it's deliberate.

With one in 8 houses in foreclosure we have other things to worry about,
we are joining the third world rapidly.

And we elected the best we could, but we seem to be still beholden to the greater corporate good.

We are beginning to be stuck in the bottom of the triangle, and it leaves no room to worry about things other than food, shelter and clothing.
