Senate Republicans going after charities now
It isn't enough to go after the middle class and working class, now they're going after popular charities.

"A group of Republican senators is questioning high salaries and expensive travel bills for executives at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, raising issues that could jeopardize millions in federal funding for the national charity."

Notice the language being used, the same language being used to demonize teachers, the term "total compensation." If look further into the nuts and bolts, the base salary is $360,000, the rest is a bonus of $150,000, retirement plan and travel expenses. This is how teachers are being demonized about pay. Yesterday I heard rush going on about a teacher making over $100,000 in "total compensation". Sure, if you count insurance plan and retirement plan.

Hopefully the Dems will come to the rescue on this one, they are, after all, the majority party. But then again that hasn't really helped when it came to other issues.

3. I'm sure they're going after "total compensation" of CEOs of taxpayer-bailed-out banks, too, right?

4. Sounds like abuse to me
"The four senators said they were concerned that the chief executive of a charity that has been closing local clubs for lack of funding was compensated nearly $1 million in 2008. They also questioned why in the same year officials spent $4.3 million on travel, $1.6 million on conferences, conventions and meetings, and $544,000 in lobbying fees."

Good ol' American greed and abuse.

5. You cannot argue with the terminally stupid
The Republican Wurlitzer has changed tunes to that old chestnut, "The Red Hearing Rag," now with a new verse, "The Boys and Girls Clubs of America Are Bankrupting Us." And no doubt it is being played as sweet and low as one can play it. I have a request...I would like a strong Democrat to get up and play "The Justice Rhapsody," with that old favorite verse, "Lets Go After the Real Crooks in the Banking System." It will be music to our ears!

6. So that's NOT a lot of money?
Help me out here. Under what circumstances is a taxpayer-funded salary of $360,000 appropriate?

I see the font settings on DU...where is the selective outrage setting? I think I want to adjust mine.
